‘Damascus Time’ star to direct flick

Notable Iranian actor Hadi Hejazifar starring in ‘Damascus Time’ is set to direct films.

The thespian said in a local TV show on Friday that “I don’t believe in having a goal-oriented resume in acting with no fear of acting cameo roles in films,” adding, “If things go on smooth, I’ll make my first film this year.”

“The screenplay has been rewritten by myself, though I still have no idea for the cast.”

ifilmers may well remember the actor from ‘Standing in the Dust’ which the channel aired a while back.

Hejazifar’s performance in 'Standing in the Dust' won him a nomination for the Best Actor in a Leading Role from the 18th Iran Cinema Celebration in 2016.

He also won the Best Actor in a Supporting Role nom for appearing in 'Midday Event' at the 19th Iran Cinema Celebration and the 35th Fajr Film Festival in 2017.

'Damascus Time' directed by Ebrahim Hatamikia and starring Hejazifar revolves around security threats by terrorists when an Iranian plane, conveying humanitarian aid to Syria, is challenged in Damascus Airport.

Babak Hamidiyan as well as a number of actors from Syria and Lebanon are the movie's main cast.
